In 1974, Charles Samelson founded Charles Samelson, Inc., and began a quarter century journey of creating and perfecting highly styled Fire Retardant fabrics for the contract and residential marketplaces.
Consistent growth throughout the '70's and '80's led to the founding of the Chatelane division and the need for a new warehouse, which was opened in 1985. Five years later,
having outgrown the Greenville, S.C. facility, a new state-of-the-art warehouse and print facility was built in Spartanburg, S.C. This year, further growth and the acquisition of the Coral of Chicago division necessitated the doubling in size of our building.
Today, Samelson-Chatelane has the largest line of fire retardant fabrics and the most extensive library of prints,
wovens and base cloths. Our reputation for service and know how in servicing the hospitality and health care furnishings communities is unbeatable and our verticality makes us a prime resource for your company.
And we service designers, manufacturers and wholesalers through our worldwide
sales rep network.
